Hi i know your father is from Cape Verde or Cabo Verde in portuguese. I was wondering if you speak portuguese? And if so how well? peace from Bruno Alencar
bruno.ferreiradealencar
Hey Bruno, in the Cape Verde islands it´s an unusual dialect that is spoken which they call Creole, so it is different from Portuguese. Unfortunately I don´t really speak the dialect and I don´t really speak Portuguese either. Having learned Spanish when I was at Barcelona I can understand some Portuguese, but as you know they are quite different as well. Alongside Swedish I speak English, Dutch, Spanish and a little Italian.

hey henrik, i would like to ask if winning the champions league with barcelona, (those two assists were incredible) made up for the dissapointment of losing the uefa cup with celtic. ps i would love to see you at celtic or the Premiership again so i could watch you more regularly, but i hope you manage to get things sorted out with helsingborg!! It would be great if you made it to euro 2010 with Sweden. Kind regards, Simon
simonstewart1990
Cheers Simon. I wouldn´t say winning the Champions League made up for losing that Uefa Cup final. Losing that match is one of the lowest points of my career and it still hurts. I try not to think about it too much. We had a very strong Celtic side and I genuinely thought we´d have a chance. But it wasn´t to be.

Having said that, the Champions League is the biggest club prize you can win and it was an amazing night in Paris when we beat Arsenal. When you first become a professional you dream of winning the biggest prizes and the Champions League is just that.

Hello Henrik, It has been a while that you played for Feyenoord. After you where gone I have seen you grown enormous in Scotland as a player and also in Barcelona. I always think it is a pitty that players begin to play good after they leave from Rotterdam. It was the case with you, but also with other players. Is the pressure in Rotterdam that difficult to deal with, or is it something else? Also I want to ask you, if it is true that van Bronkhorst has asked you to come back to Feyenoord? I hope it is, because it is said to see that a fantastic club as Feyenoord is doing so bad. Cheers!! Franklin (Rotterdam)
westie
Hi Franklin, some players may have prospered after leaving Feyenoord, but there are also a lot of very good players who have stayed at the club. At the time I left I don´t think I was being given the chance to play the way that would get the best from me. At Celtic I was given that opportunity and the club and my team-mates allowed me to do what I do best. Every player is different.

I´ve been friends with Gio for years and I still keep in touch with him. In the past we chatted a bit about the possibility of me playing at Feyenoord, but once I came home to Sweden that couldn´t really happen. Feyenoord is a big club with some very good players. It may be struggling a bit at the moment but I´m sure it´ll come back and be a powerful force.

Hi Henky. I´m a die hard celtic fan and watched you many times and still think you are by far one of our best players for years. is your son likely to follow in your footsteps as a player and if so would you encourage him to play in sweeden or go abroad, i think it would be awsome to think that your son could oneday play for us. celtic may be in his blood all Hail king Henrik !!!!!!

Thanks Michael, it´s always nice to hear that from supporters. Obviously I loved my time at Celtic and Celtic will always be a big part of my life. Jordan loves his football and he definitely has talent at the game. But it´s too early to say whether he´ll go on to be good enough to make a career out of football, or if he wants to. If he does develop to be good enough and that´s what he wants I would encourage him to do what ever he wants. Ambition is great in football but you also have to be happy. If he is happy in whatever path he chooses to follow I´ll be behind him. Well just have to wait and see how things go.

Dear Henrik -We share the same name (well i´m Henry), same year of birth and love of celtic. To have anything in common with you makes me feel touched by God. You gave me and so many others many many happy memories. A group of us have planned a trip to Sweden next Spring, to pay homage to your country, helsingborg and of course your genius. We need you to play one more season as our wives will only ok this trip if you are still playing (your powers are far reaching). I think I see a few grey hairs creeping up on you, I´m sure they are just giving you more wisdom to realise that quitting now would be too soon. My question - What is your favourite goal? and if you want to be diplomatic you can cateogorise for each club and country. (Mine - your run and chip 6-2 vs Rangers, if I was Swedish it would have been your diving header Euro 2004.) I shall enjoy telling my son all about your skills and genius in the years to come. Thank you. Henry

Come to Helsingborg, it´s a very nice town and has a very good football team! In some ways it´s difficult to pick favourite goals because sometimes the less spectacular ones can be the most important. However, if you´re talking about individual goals that stand out both the ones you mention would be up there for me as well. There´s also the goal I scored in the third-place play-off match against Bulgaria in the 1994 World Cup and the third goal in Celtic´s 3-0 win over Kilmarnock in the 2001 CIS Cup final.

Henrik, I dont think theres much left to say thats not already been said about your amazing contribution to Celtic and the world of football, so instead Ill just ask a lighthearted question haha....Do you miss your dreadlocks and do you regret cutting them off? Hail Hail The King of Kings! - Nick
nick_mcbryde
I don´t miss the dreadlocks Nick and I don´t regret cutting them off. But I also don´t regret having them when I did. Throughout life you find there is a time and a place for certain things and for a while I was happy with the dreadlocks. Then one day I was on my way home from training and I just decided to have them cut off. I was in my car sitting at a crossroads and if I went one way it was home, the other way was to the hairdresser. I hesitated for a moment and then went to the hairdresser. I had a bit of a lean spell goal-wise shortly afterwards and there were all sorts of stories about how I´d lost my power after getting my hair cut. Luckily the goals came back.

hey, henrik i read your book season in paradise and thought it was brilliant!! Do you think you will ever write a book about your entire playing career? cheers henrik
colm.dunning
Well, Colm, that book was fun to do and I´m glad I did it, but I´m not sure I´ll ever do another one. If you write about your whole career you have to include all the stuff that´ll make it interesting, and quite often that´s stuff you´d rather keep for yourself. I don´t mean scandal, but just things that are private; things that are said and done on the pitch or in the locker room, or stuff that happens within a club. I just think those things are for the people who were there at the time and not really what you should share. It´s fine if other people want to do that, but it´s not really the way I think.

The Season in Paradise book was mostly about that one great season and I felt it was right to share a bit of how I felt about that year with the fans who had been such a big part of it. Obviously you can never say never, but I can´t see myself writing a career biography.

Henrik, I don´t really have a question for you. I just wanted to say, as I´m sure you´ve heard thousands of times before, you´re loved all over the world by Celtic fans and that shiver I imagine you get when you think about walking out onto Celtic Park is shared by every true Celtic fan. Celtic players like you are more than just players for the fans and I hope that came across every time you pulled on the hoops and every time you remember your 7 years with us. There will always be a place for you and yours in Paradise.
bmadine
I have the most incredible memories of my time at Celtic and there is nothing that will ever change my affection for the club and the fans. I knew at the time what a privilege it was to be playing for Celtic with all it´s tremendous history and I never took that for granted. It´s a special club and every time I put the shirt on and ran out in front of the fans it was special to me.

Hi Henrik, I dont think anyone connected with Celtic FC, will ever forget your amazing contribution to our great club, but is coming back to Celtic something you would seriously consider? Or, would you prefer just to keep the memories intact? Either way Henrik, we will NEVER forget you, come back soon, Hail Hail Kevin, from Glasgow
kevin
I really appreciate that Kevin. I just want to keep the memories as they are. I don´t think it can ever get better than it was. Trust me that there is no club that I care about more than Celtic, but you can´t ever really go back and try to recreate what was there before.

Henrik, You´ve been told many times you are a Celtic legend and we will always love you for the effort you put in above all else. Too many players play for cash not the pride in the jersey like you did. If there is a chance please consider coming back to us in January. You are still a class act and your reputation would never be tarnished by coming back. My wife is having a baby in January, you coming back to paradise would give me just as much enjoyment and if it´s a bhoy I might call him Henrik! Hail Hail Gareth
celticwarrior77
Hey Gareth, Henrik´s a great name for your child, but whatever happens I hope your wife and baby are happy and healthy. Always good to hear about another Celtic fan coming into the world.
